History: Witherbee-Sherman had these concrete block homes built of different sizes to house their mineworker’s families around 1909. By using the tailings in the mixture, the blocks became very hard. The single-family dwellings were charged $1 per room per month. Many still stand today, now privately owned & some renovated. This particular home was once owned by William Gray Sr. for many years.
